Who is Ginger Calem anyway?

Ginger Calem

Ginger Calem

Thanks for asking!  I’m Ginger Calem and I’m a lot of ‘people’, but who isn’t?  Don’t we all wear a lot of hats?  In a nutshell, I’m a wife and mother of three.  My husband and I own a CrossFit strength and condition gym in our home town in Texas, so I train and workout and all that stuff.  BUT–the reason this blog exists is that I’m also a WRITER. I write humorous mystery and YA with a kiss of paranormal.  I love spending time with my characters, even when they drive me nuts, they make me laugh.  I look forward to sharing them with you and hope you enjoy their company as well as I do.

Drop by any time to see what I’m up to — read what’s on my mind  — and share a laugh with me!

  1. I’m excited to start following you! I know many things about you but I don’t know too much about your writing side. I look forward to learning more and sharing many laughs with you!

  2. Thank you, Stephanie. You get the prize for being my very first comment! I’ll have to get you a prezzie. 🙂

  3. So…..Ginger the intellectual / entertainer. Never followed a blog but I may check in from time to time and see what is within the cerebral cortex upon your shoulders. Have fun.

    • Thanks, BVO! I guess I forgot the ‘entertainer’ bit in my ‘who is GC’ part. Seems so long ago, but that is SO a part of who I was and who I still am. Hope I can entertain with words. 🙂

  4. Just stopping by to get on your mailing list, Ginger. Gorgeous, gorgeous header and design!

  5. Hi Ginger! Stephanie Ortiz recommended I check out your new blog. It’s so beautifully designed! So pretty as well as informative. Very inviting. I’m following you now.

    • Hi Shelley! Thanks so much for checking out my blog and the compliments. I’d love to take credit for the design. It’s a wordpress template. But, I’ll take credit for choosing it! haha Very happy to have you along for the ride. I’ll have to thank Stephanie for sending you my way. Don’t miss tomorrow. I’m posting the next WritersButt update and challenge. (Hope that link goes through. If not, you can check out my post from last Wednesday.)

Thanks again and nice to ‘meet’ you.

  6. Hello Ginger,
I’m a new visitor to your blog and I love it! You have a wonderful sense of humor, and that’s the main reason I’ll be back for more.

  7. Hello Ginger!
I found your blog through a post by Natalie Hartford. She did a shout-out to you. Sometimes I end up on fun, new-to-me sites (like this one) & I won’t know how I got there.
I am reading your blog on my phone because I am in bed, and other comments say how beautiful your blog is. Now I’m very interested to see how it looks. It will have to be tomorrow, because I’m exhausted!
Your by-line for your blog is “I Am Blogger…Hear Me Tweet.” Obviously, then you are on Twitter, because the phone version just has the basics, I will have to look you up on Twitter.
    Glad I found your blog!

    • Hi Monique. So happy you found me. Natalie is the BEST! Love her. I hope you hang out some more so we can get to know each other. Yep, I’m on Twitter and obviously you are too, so I’ll go follow you right now. 🙂

  8. Hi there! Just came across your blog and would like to take the time to say how wonderful I think you are (despite never meeting you before) and thank you for your quirky posts, you’ve brightened up my day! 🙂

    Love from your new follower!

  9. Love the new look to you blog. Keep the fun coming.

  10. Hi Ginger, I feel like I was in the car behind you at Starbucks! I know I wasn’t, but it was so heartening to read how your lovely daughter did that beautiful thing. I’ve just started my blog, and building my author platform, and I’ve found so many new friends in the process. It’s very uplifting to read good blogs, educational too.
    Brightest Blessings,
    Tally 🙂
